EBVS Advance – Refund Policy

1. Overview
EBVS Advance is an online learning platform operated by the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS). All payments for EBVS Advance courses and other digital products are processed by Paddle, who acts as our Merchant of Record.
Paddle is responsible for payment processing, VAT calculation, invoicing, and managing refunds and chargebacks in line with applicable consumer and tax law. Your financial contract for any paid course or digital product is with Paddle.
2. 14-day refund guarantee
EBVS Advance offers a 14-day refund guarantee on all course purchases. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the date of purchase.
To qualify for a refund under this guarantee:
- your request must be submitted within 14 days of the original purchase date;
- you must not have completed the course or obtained a certificate of completion.
This 14-day refund guarantee applies regardless of whether you have accessed or started the course content.
3. Refunds after the 14-day period
After the 14-day refund window has passed, refunds are not generally available. However, exceptions may be considered in the following circumstances:
- Technical access issues – where persistent technical problems prevent you from accessing purchased content and cannot be resolved within a reasonable time.
- Duplicate purchases – if you unintentionally purchase the same course or product more than once.
- Clearly incorrect product – for example, enrolment into the wrong EBVS Advance course due to a clear system or listing error.
- Exceptional circumstances – at EBVS's discretion, we may support a request to Paddle for a goodwill refund.
All refund decisions outside the 14-day window are ultimately made by Paddle, taking into account digital content rules and fraud prevention measures.
4. When refunds will not be given
Refunds will not be provided where:
- more than 14 days have passed since purchase and none of the exceptions in Section 3 apply;
- you have completed the course or obtained a certificate or record of achievement;
- the inability to access content is caused by your own device, browser, firewall, or internet connection;
- the course content does not meet subjective personal expectations, where it is substantially as described;
- you assumed the course would guarantee specialist status, examination success, or professional recognition not explicitly stated by EBVS.
5. How to request a refund
All refund requests and payment disputes are handled by Paddle. EBVS cannot issue refunds directly, because Paddle is the Merchant of Record.
5.1 Submit your request to Paddle
To request a refund, please contact Paddle via their support portal:
When submitting a request, please include:
- your Paddle order reference number;
- the email address used for purchase;
- the name of the course or product;
- a clear explanation of the reason for your request;
- any relevant screenshots or supporting information (for example, error messages).
5.2 Evaluation by Paddle
Paddle will review your request in line with:
- their Buyer Terms and refund policies;
- applicable consumer protection law for digital content; and
- fraud and misuse prevention checks.
Paddle may contact EBVS for confirmation of course access logs or other information needed to reach a decision.
5.3 Refund method and timing
If a refund is approved:
- it will be issued by Paddle to the original payment method wherever possible;
- VAT and other taxes will also be refunded where applicable;
- processing times depend on your bank or payment provider.
6. Chargebacks and disputes
If you initiate a chargeback or dispute through your bank or card provider, Paddle will manage the process on behalf of EBVS Advance. In such cases:
- EBVS may provide evidence of course access, certificates, and other relevant activity;
- unfounded or abusive disputes may lead to suspension of your EBVS Advance account and access to future purchases.
